Extreme Haunts are defined here as any immersive horror experience that incorporates physical elements beyond light touch. These may include, but are not limited to:

• Bondage and restraint
• Environments with extreme temperature or water immersion

• Electricity and impact implements
• Sensory overload and psychological intensity

Reviews & Submissions

All reviews on Rotting Skulls are anonymous to protect contributors while still giving voice to their experiences. Every submission is moderated to ensure community standards are upheld.

Controversial Haunts

A number of the haunt companies listed on this site have had serious allegations made about both their practices and creators. Whether legal action has been pursued varies case by case. That being said, their inclusion is not a promotion of their companies or a condoning of their actions.

This site is meant to serve as a historic record of extreme haunts. We aim to offer a safe platform where people can voice their opinion and issues anonymously without fear of retaliation. If issues of the past are not recorded and readily available, new community members may again fall victim to unsafe experiences. We support and encourage participants that have ever felt unsafe to share their stories. We aim to be a platform that can uplift unheard voices and shape the future of extreme horror to be safer and more transparent.

Why We Exist

Extreme Haunts push past the boundaries of conventional fear. They can be beautiful, transformative, and terrifying—but they are not without risk. Rotting Skulls exists to document, critique, and illuminate this underground world so that participants enter with awareness and creators are recognized for their craft.
